What exactly is it, first? It’s this employment practice where the people employed do not engage in activities in said employment that are actually against the law or prohibited by the law. This makes sense because it would be unfair for everyone involved if you discriminate against the applicant just because he or she is of different religion, sex, colour, age or race.
Since this generation is all about playing fair, the policy objective of every business and employment is to level the playing field and give equal opportunities to the people who want to apply for the job. This ensures that the whole process is all about capability and experience, NOT about your certain characteristic. Once we are all hired, our productivity is what’s the most important of all, not the colour of our skin or religion. So for that matter, read up on Avensure Reviews 2019 since they have the best understanding on Human Resource Management.
So with that, let’s talk about the things that should NOT matter when applying for a job.
No matter where you’re from, if you have the passion and need for a job, then the rest shouldn’t matter. Businesses have no time to discriminate anyway and if there are still companies out there who hire based on race, then they would be subjected to go to court. That is prohibited by the law.
While we do indeed need to be careful we don’t accidentally hire minors, we must still accept the applicants that are willing to apply for the job in the first place. If they are still capable of doing honest-to-God work, then it shouldn’t be a problem. Whether you are too young and are just fresh out of college – or at least over the age of 18—or maybe even nearing the age of retirement, you should still be able to apply for a job if you so wish for it.
This is the same with Race. Knowing how bad racism is these days, you can at least take relief in the fact that it’s being remedied nowadays. Back then, being a person of colour would mean so much on whether you could be accepted or not. Sometimes you get discriminated unfairly. Now though, knowing everyone is so open-minded and accepting, companies are certainly running over each other to accept people of colour. That may be a step further to progress but this can still improve. Treat everyone the same and judge them on their personalities, not their colour.
Let’s get this out of the way. Women back then weren’t even allowed to work. Forget being accepted, they probably didn’t even get the opportunity to apply for it. For the past decades though, women have been fighting back. This is definitely seen as progress. It’s not just the women either. Everyone with their own gender-identity should be given a chance to get a job too.
Believe what you want to believe, we respect that. It wouldn’t matter in the office anyway. We’re in the office to work and to provide for our families, not to have heated discussions about the beliefs all of us have. Religion is a sensitive topic and it shouldn’t even be in the working industry to begin with. Be faithful, however, don’t push applicants away just because you have different beliefs. Equality is important. Abilities, intelligence and experience are what we need more in companies. Look for those in your applicants and your business would have no issues.
